The AS42L is a heavy-duty 4-channel portable lighting dimmer designed for theatrical, worship, educational, entertainment, and live event applications requiring higher load capacity in a compact format. With a capacity of 1200 watts per channel and a maximum total load of 4800 watts, it provides flexible control for conventional lighting systems where greater power handling is needed.

The AS42L uses the LMX-128 multiplex control protocol through dual 3-pin XLR connections, allowing the control signal to enter the dimmer and continue to additional compatible equipment. This makes it well suited for existing LMX-based lighting systems that require greater channel capacity than smaller portable dimmer packs can provide.

Power is supplied through two separate 120VAC, 20-amp input circuits, allowing the connected load to be distributed across two power sources. Each channel provides dual Edison output sockets for added flexibility when connecting conventional fixtures within the channel’s rated capacity.

For applications where an external controller is not required, the AS42L includes eight built-in chase patterns for stand-alone automated operation. Relay mode allows designated channels to function as non-dim on/off outputs, while the preheat function provides a low-level lamp warm-up that can help reduce thermal stress and extend lamp life.

Designed for portable and installed conventional lighting systems, the AS42L combines higher-capacity four-channel dimming, LMX-128 control, dual-circuit power handling, relay operation, and stand-alone chase capability in a compact professional dimmer pack.
