The IDW104 is a wall-mount DMX-512 opto-isolated splitter designed to distribute a single DMX universe to four independent DMX output circuits while providing optical isolation between outputs. Ideal for theaters, churches and houses of worship, schools, conference centers, and permanent architectural lighting installations, the IDW104 helps improve system reliability by isolating DMX signal branches and protecting connected devices from electrical faults and signal issues.
Key Features
The IDW104 receives a single DMX-512 control signal and distributes it to four independent output branches. Each output is optically isolated from the others, allowing multiple DMX lines to operate independently while helping prevent faults, ground loops, and electrical issues on one branch from affecting the remainder of the lighting network.
Designed specifically for permanent installations, the IDW104 utilizes removable screw terminal connections for both DMX input and output wiring. This configuration simplifies integration into architectural lighting systems, installed dimming networks, and facility-wide lighting control infrastructure where hardwired connections are preferred over XLR cabling.
LED indicators provide visual confirmation of both power and valid DMX signal presence, allowing installers and operators to quickly verify proper operation. The splitter accepts standard DMX-512 control signals and distributes them to four isolated output circuits while maintaining signal integrity throughout the network.
Designed for dependable long-term operation, the IDW104 is housed in a wall-mount steel enclosure with conduit knockouts on multiple sides for convenient cable routing and installation flexibility. The unit operates from an included 12VDC power supply and may also be powered from an external 12–16VDC source rated at 800mA or greater. Its combination of optical isolation, hardwired connectivity, and installation-focused design makes the IDW104 a practical solution for expanding and protecting DMX-512 networks in permanent lighting control environments.
