The UMX24 is a lighting protocol translator designed for theatrical, worship, educational, entertainment, and architectural lighting applications requiring communication between DMX-512 or LMX-128 lighting controllers and analog dimming systems. Suitable for churches and houses of worship, theaters, schools, performance venues, and multi-purpose facilities, the UMX24 converts digital lighting control signals into twenty-four channels of 0–10VDC analog output in a compact portable enclosure.
Key Features
The UMX24 receives either a USITT DMX-512 or LMX-128 lighting control signal and converts the incoming data into twenty-four channels of 0–10VDC analog output for use with compatible analog dimming systems and lighting equipment. Selectable start addressing allows the translated output channels to be assigned as required for the installation.
The unit provides both DMX-512 and LMX-128 pass-through connectors, allowing the incoming control signal to continue to additional compatible devices without external splitters. An Output Hold function retains the last valid lighting levels during temporary signal loss to help maintain uninterrupted operation.
Designed for dependable operation in permanent and portable lighting systems, the UMX24 features a DB-25 analog output connector, front-panel status indicators, selectable DMX termination, and operation from either LMX phantom power or an external power supply. Its compact size and protocol conversion capabilities make it a practical solution for integrating modern lighting controllers with existing analog dimming equipment.
